Planned Parenthood Great Plains is looking to open a new facility in Kansas City, Kansas, according to sources on the ground, and Planned Parenthood’s website, which lists several job openings for a new location.
But, they are having some trouble finding a new location. Their first choice, according to reports, was a building at 1854 Minnesota Avenue in Kansas City. That building is owned by the funeral home next door. The owners of the funeral home told Students for Life said they had ended the lease with Planned Parenthood, but that they believe Planned Parenthood will still try to open in the city.
The funeral home did not say exactly when they ended the lease, but Students for Life had started inquiring last week about their plans. Other pro-life groups have also likely been reaching out to the funeral home even longer. The funeral home advertises and has relationships with many of the local churches in the area, so economic pressure and societal pressure to not ruin relationships with pro-life churches likely contributed to the decision.
GREAT NEWS! Planned Parenthood in Kansas City lost their new lease and their plans to open a new facility are currently on hold while they search for a new location.
We will continue to fight to keep them out of the community!

However, the fight is not over. Students for Life in Kansas along with other pro-life groups will continue to work in the community to stop a new Kansas City Planned Parenthood from opening. Though Planned Parenthood said they are not going to commit abortions at these locations, that does not change a thing. We know Planned Parenthood pushes abortions on clients and refers pregnant women to their other facilities that commit abortions. For example, their Overland Park location, about 15 miles from Kansas City, commits abortions.
