WASHINGTON D.C. (10-11-19) – “Once again, judges block the goals of a compassionate Ohio electorate who wanted to protect babies said to have Down Syndrome from the death sentence of abortion,” said Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins. In a 2-1 decision, the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati blocked a 2017 Ohio law that would not allow abortions if pre-natal testing indicated a baby had Down Syndrome.
“The inhumanity of throwing people away because they are different from us must end. But the abortion industry’s abuse of courts to force their agenda will not go on forever,” said Hawkins. “Prenatal testing should not be used to decide which babies deserve a chance at life or which will die.”
